Music — it can’t be an afterthought when you want to use campaign videos to motivate various forms of advocacy.

The Obama campaign soundtrack — along with some high-production value visuals — did a great job of defining and driving forward the narrative of Obama-as-THE-change-and-hope-candidate.

I wanted to find out the source of that music. Turns out it was composed by two guys named Benh Zeitlin and Dan Romer, who originally wrote it for the independent film “Glory at Sea.” The two contributed their score to the Obama campaign, and the rest is history.
